I was a featured reader!

On Thursday, June 2nd, six local London poets (including myself!) got to take the stage at Brown & Dickson bookshop, to recite out poetry at whom ever would listen.... so basically our friends and family and s.o's...

Moving on.

The Poetry Six Pack consisted of (in order of picture above and order of performance... and yes, these were their real bios for the show):

1) Shelly Harder: is deferential, glad to be of use.... Full of high sentence but a bit obtuse; at times, indeed, almost ridiculous—

2) Kevin Heslop: is a poet and student of the English language and its exponents.

3) David Huebert: is the author of the poetry collection We Are No Longer The Smart Kids In Class and the winner of the 2016 CBC Short Story Prize.

4) Kevin Shaw: his poems have recently appeared, or are forthcoming, in Arc, CV2, PRISM, and Grain. He won the 2015 Arc Poem of the Year award and the 2016 PRISM International Poetry Contest.

5) Koral Scott (me!): has worked closely with The Rusty Toque online literary journal, and now spends most of her spare time planning and organizing events for London Open Mic Poetry.

6) Andy Verboom: edits The Word Hoard and organizes Couplets, London’s collaborative reading series. His debut chapbook Tower (Anstruther Press) drops this summer.

A big shoutout and a huge thank you to:

Jason Dickson, the co-owner of Brown & Dickson, for letting us use the space

Kevin Heslop for setting this whole thing up, and bringing all of us poets together. It was a wonderful idea.

Kitty Lewis for donating a bunch of awesome poetry books from Brick Books Publishing.

And a very special shoutout thank you to Kailee Wakeman for willing playing Poetry Six Pack Hostess as the last minute.
